About MapPlanet

This is a free internet service. At the moment the service consists of

• Search for locations Here you can search for all locations in our databases (about 6.000.000 names for 4.200.000 locations). The locations are compiled of data from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and from the U.S. Geological Survey

• Map A Google map to display the search results (see above) in a geographical context
• RSS News feeds Some selected news feeds can be displayed on the map.
• A List of Locations to browse through our database
• Finally - for members only - the possibility to upload your own geographically relevant content to our map which can be private, shared with friends only or even be published to all MapPlanet visitors
• If you find typos, or have suggestions please use the Feedback form.
